The HypnoMothering Story

  • What is HypnoMothering?

HypnoMothering is a grounded, flexible approach to ease the way for conception, birth, and beyond. Through hypnosis (a natural state of selective, focused attention), you’ll learn rapid relaxation and breathing techniques to support the work of the body, and self-hypnosis to quiet the mind and create emotional calm.

At the center of HypnoMothering is a thorough childbirth education course focused on helping you work with (rather than resist) your body during labor and birth, and preparing you to have informed, confident conversations with your healthcare providers.

Rich with practical tools to calm the nervous system, quiet the mind, and release unconscious blocks, HypnoMothering allows for a smooth, gentle transition to motherhood.

  • How Did HypnoMothering Begin?

HypnoMothering has its beginnings with the stories of new mothers. Clinical Hypnotherapists and childbirth educators, Tracy Barrett Adams and Kira Dorrian heard their childbirth education parents express a myriad of emotions after bringing baby home, ranging from elation to despair. In 2012, Tracy and Kira created the HypnoMothering postpartum program to help women engage in the experience of motherhood more gently and joyfully. Now, Tracy, after teaching thousands of parents hypnosis for childbirth and working with hundreds to help with conception, has extended HypnoMothering to create a full-circle program to address common themes she sees in her fertility practice, and a flexible, comprehensive, and up-to-date hypnosis for childbirth program.

  • How is HypnoMothering Different?

HypnoMothering’s video content is thorough and fast paced, organized to make it easy to move through information and techniques easily, in your own time. As an experienced speaker and educator, Tracy’s relaxed, engaging teaching style make it easy to understand the different facets of each topic, as if you’re right in the classroom. The childbirth education course includes breathing and relaxation techniques, positive self-advocacy skills, and unlike other hypnosis for birth programs, HypnoMothering prepares you for your best birth through medical variations and interventions.

Because one size does not fit all, HypnoMothering offers a range of hypnosis recordings that takes individuality into account. Within all three circles of HypnoMothering you’ll find a range of rapid techniques for all learning styles, all woven through with positive and contemporary hypnotic language. And because everyone’s relaxation response is unique, there are several recordings for deeper states to quiet the mind and body.

  • What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a safe, natural state of selective, focused attention. When we enter into this absorbed state of hypnosis, we can use our thoughts, talents and experiences in ways not usually available to us. Typically people in hypnosis feel fully aware and very relaxed. No previous background with hypnosis is necessary to receive full benefit from HypnoMothering.
